Patricia Fernández

Patricia Fernández

Patricia Fernández is a Metallurgical Engineer, with a Master's degree in Engineering with emphasis on Materials and a PhD in Engineering (Energy and Thermodynamics) from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB). She is a full professor with around 20 years of research experience in the field of materials. She currently coordinates the Advanced Metals Area and the research group of the New Materials Research Group (GINUMA) at UPB. Since 2005 she has been developing the topic of cellular metals in the field of new metals at GINUMA. She is author and co-author of at least 50 publications in scientific journals and around 100 papers in international events. Her field of research is based on the development, characterization and application of cellular metals, especially magnesium-based foams for use in implants and aluminum foams for acoustic applications.

Diego Vergara

Diego Vergara

Diego Vergara is a Technical Engineer of Public Works, Materials Engineer and Doctor by the University of Salamanca, in the PhD program of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. He has approximately 20 years of teaching experience. His research field is Materials Science and Engineering, specifically Fracture Mechanics and Hydrogen Fragmentation. In this field, he covers approximately 150 publications in journals, book chapters and conference papers. On the other hand, his works in the field of teaching innovation -which are mainly focused on virtual reality, educational gamification and agile methodologies- reach a total of approximately 100 articles in specialized journals and conference proceedings. He currently works as a professor at the Catholic University of Avila, where he is also Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences (Education, Languages and Humanities area).

Vanessa Duarte

Vanessa Duarte is a computer engineer from the Experimental University of Táchira (Venezuela) and a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Central University of Venezuela. She has 10 years of experience in teaching on universities. His field of research includes Bio-Engineering, mainly in the development of biological models of bone remodeling with mechanical and piezoelectric loads, Data Science with special attention in the implementation of Machine Learning applied to different areas such as healthcare, business, robotics and decision making. Currently, she works as a professor and researcher at the School of Business Sciences of the Universidad Católica del Norte. Coquimbo (Chile).

Alberto Pertuz

Alberto Pertuz

Alberto Pertuz is a Senior Researcher at Colciencias. Currently, he is a Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering of the Industrial University of Santander, Bucaramanga, Colombia. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Université des Science et Technologie de Lille, France. He has a Master's degree in Metallurgy and Materials Sciences and Mechanical Engineering from the Central University of Venezuela. His research areas are: Applied Mechanics, Coatings and Films, Material Fatigue and Mechanical Characterization. He is the creator and inventor of a novel machine for evaluating material fatigue, which obtained a patent in the United States.

Alicia Valero

Alicia Valero

Alicia Valero Delgado is a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Zaragoza. In addition to this university, she studied at the TU Berlin, Paul Sabatier in Toulouse and the British Geological Survey. She currently leads the Industrial Ecology research group at the Centre for Research on Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE) and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zaragoza.Her research activity has focused on the search for resource efficiency solutions and the application of thermodynamics to evaluate the Earth's mineral capital, a topic on which she has been working for more than 15 years and for which she has received four international awards. Among her publications, her book co-authored with Antonio Valero stands out: "Thanatia, the destiny of the Earth's mineral resources" (WSP, 2014). In addition to the latter, she has published more than fifty publications in scientific journals and book chapters, as well as numerous communications at international conferences. She has participated in some thirty national and international projects, all related to the study and optimisation of energy and materials. She is a member of several international expert groups on critical raw materials.

Iván Esparragoza

Iván Esparragoza is a Mechanical Engineer with a Ph.D. from Florida International University (1998). He has several articles published in specialized magazines, assistances to endorsed and validated scientific events, publications of book chapters, among others. With quite broad fields of study, topics such as civil construction and buildings, manufacture of metal structures, education in the field of engineering can be mentioned.

Eduardo Divo

Eduardo Divo

Eduardo Divo is Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering of the University of Central Florida. He serves as the advisor for the Central Florida Professional and Student Chapters of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). As a researcher, Dr. Divo is actively involved in bioengineering research including cardiovascular hemodynamics, lung dynamics, biomechanics, muscle and tissue mechanics, radiotherapy, and others. His fundamental research concentrates on numerical modeling techniques such as the Meshless Method and the Boundary Element Method with applications to bioengineering, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, fluid-structure interaction, inverse problems and optimization. His work has led to the publication of over 180 articles in International Journals and Conference Proceedings as well as a number of books and chapters. He has received numerous teaching and research awards and was named the 2009 Central Florida Engineer of the Year as the E-week Technical Excellence Award recipient.

Leopoldo de Oliveira

Leopoldo de Oliveira

Leopoldo de Oliveira is an Associate Professor at the São Carlos School of Engineering from the University of São Paulo (EESC-USP) in Brazil since 2009. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (Dec/2000), a master's degree (Mar/2003), and a Doctorate (Mar/2007) in Mechanical Engineering from the same university. He obtained a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven (Belgium) in July 2009. He is currently one of the Principal Investigators in the thematic project "ENVIBRO - Design and optimization of periodic structures to improve vibroacoustic performance". He is the author of more than 30 publications in scientific journals and 80 papers at international conferences. He has experience in the area of Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Dynamics of Rigid and Elastic Bodies, acting mainly in Experimental Modal Analysis, Vibro-acoustics, Active Control of Noise & Vibration and Sound Quality.

Álvaro Page

Álvaro Page

Álvaro Page is an Agricultural Engineer with a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (1986). His research is linked to three lines related to the applications of Engineering to Health and Quality of Life: Ergonomics, Biomechanics and Robotics. Álvaro Page has participated in 72 R&D projects financed in public calls and in 47 R&D contracts with companies. He is the co-author of more than 80 papers published in scientific journals, 17 scientific books and 15 book chapters in international publishers, and 80 contributions at scientific conferences. He is a reviewer for: J. Biomechanics, Human Factors, Journal of Mechanical Design, Human Movement Science, Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing. Álvaro Page has been Secretary of the Health and Safety Committee of the Polytechnic University of Valencia for four years (1998-2002).

José María Baydal

José María Baydal

José María Baydal is an Industrial Engineer, with a Ph.D in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2012). José María Baydal has worked as a researcher at the Valencia Institute of Biomechanics since 2001. During this period, he has participated in different national and European projects. He has about 80 articles in scientific journals, has been involved in 44 in research projects financed in public calls and 25 participations in research contracts with companies and / or administrations. His field of research focuses on Biomechanical evaluation of human movements in the clinical field (balance, gait, cervical, lumbar, upper and lower limb) and in the sports field (golf, running, among others). Analysis and statistical treatment of information.

Carlos Vila

Carlos Vila

Carlos Vila is professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has published about 50 articles in journals and conferences, and he has been advisor of several theses and research projects. In 2008, he published the book " Problemas Resueltos de Conformado por Arranque de Viruta ". Within his area of interest, we have to mention topics related to manufacturing processes, machining process, design, supply chain, Industry 4.0, concurrent engineering, among others.

Patricia Frontini

Patricia Frontini

Patricia Frontini is Professor at the University of Mar del Plata and Senior Researcher at the National Research Council of Argentina. Her scientific activities are related to deformation, fracture and structural integrity of polymers, composites and plastic parts. She participated in numerous International Scientific Collaboration Projects and technological developments for the productive sector. She published more than 120 articles in international indexed journals and more than 200 conference papers. She received several scientific awards in Argentina (Houssay 2005; Ing. Santiago 2015 and Ing. Huergo 2019). She is a member of the Advisory Board of Express Polymer Letters.
